Shiny Object: Sing Something AppCecily Kellogg
Are you over Draw Something? I know I am. Too time consuming, plus I totally suck at drawing. I ended up resorting to just writing the words after a while, and that’s not fun for anyone.
But I’m not a half bad singer, so I’m pretty excited about this new app, Sing Something. While it has nothing to do with OMGPOP, the company that made Draw Something and then sold it for a kajillion dollars, the premise is near identical.
Except, of course, instead of drawing, you sing.
I know, right? FUN. Like karoake in a game form on your iPhone.
The game breaks down like this: if you sing the song with words, you get two points. If you hum it without words, three points. If you play it on an instrument, four points. And just like with Draw Something, you can use bombs earned with points to blow up letters or change song choices.
You choose a song, press the record button, and then send it off to the person you’re playing with. Sadly, I only have a couple of Facebook friends on there so far so I don’t have a lot of active games going, but it is SO MUCH FUN. (This means y’all will run off and sign up, right, so I have more people to play with? Thanks, you’re awesome.)
The layout/design of the game is more attractive (and less simple, admittedly) than Draw Something, but it’s just as easy to play. I hope you’ll join me playing Sing Something!
SO MUCH FUN.
