Looking at vintage Father’s Day cards is a trip. A journey to another time, a time where spanking was socially acceptable, women stayed home and cleaned the house, and every dad was addicted to nicotine; smoking cigars, cigarettes and the occasional pipe. Also, anthropomorphic animals made quite an appearance in Father’s Day cards of yore from train conducting giraffes to archery loving baby bears, rarely were dads seen as human.
