So, This is How Dolphins Are Born (Video)

How Dolphins Are Born

It was a big day at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii. This week, the resort welcomed a new baby dolphin into the fold when 12-year-old Keo gave birth to her first baby.

A dolphin giving birth while in captivity is a rare event. Keo herself was born at the aquarium which makes her baby the second generation to be born there. But it is even rarer for a dolphin birth to be captured on video, especially so vividly.

Keo delivered her baby, who has yet to be named, after an hour of labor while trainers at the Hilton Waikoloa Village observed. The footage is clear, crisp and fascinating, especially the footage right after the birth when the baby dolphin swims along with it’s mother. It’s such a sweet, joyful moment.
