SVU Star Mariska Hargitay Adopts Another Child In Whirlwind Process
Emmy-winning actress Mariska Hargitay was surprised at the speed of the new adoption.
“Law & Order Special Victim’s Unit” star Mariska Hargitay has just adopted baby number two, just six months after adopting her first.
Earlier this year they adopted their daughter, Amaya Josephine, and have just announced they’re adopting a son, Andrew Nicolas. People magazine says the couple was surprised the second adoption went through so quickly, and that it actually took only one week after “processing their paperwork.” The Emmy and Golden Globe winner and her husband Peter Hermann also have a 5-year-old son named August.
Hargitay joins a long line of Hollywood celebrities who have adopted children, including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman, Katherine Heigl, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, Madonna and Sandra Bullock.
Gothamist reports that Mariska Hargitay cut back her hours this year on the show Law & Order SVU, to just four days a week … perhaps because she’s busy being a mom.
