Ben Breedlove, 18, passed away on Christmas night after suffering a heart attack. The teen was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardio-myopathy, a dangerous heart condition he struggled with growing up that almost killed him on three separate occasions.
He talks about those events in a video he recorded one week before his death in which he says he had near-death experiences at the ages of four, fourteen, and less than a month ago.
In the video, Ben uses a series of flash cards to relay what it was like growing up with a heart problem saying: “I was never allowed to play sports that my friends did. It kinda sucks that I missed out on that part of my life.” He also talks about seeing bright lights during his brushes with death and experiencing a feeling of peace so strong that he didn’t want to leave. He wrote: “I couldn’t take my eyes off it, and I couldn’t help but smile. I had no worries at all, like nothing else in the world mattered.”
