When it comes to safety, my wife and I are sticklers. Outlets? Covered. Car seats? Checked daily. Bike helmets? You bet. (Despite the fact I never wore one and survived just fine.) Our 9-year-old is an excellent swimmer. But that doesn’t matter to us. She’s not allowed in the pool unless an adult is supervising her.
We even thought long and hard before allowing her to cross the street. In our neighborhood. Which hardly has any traffic. So I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to child safety, I’m on the conservative side.
I’ll also be the first to admit that I’m no child safety expert. Still, I’m pretty sure allowing a 4-year-old to drive your motorcycle is a no-no. Don’t even get me started on the fact that the child wasn’t wearing a helmet.
It’s too horrifying to do anything other than show you the video that made my jaw drop. The clown riding on the back of the bike is presumably the little girl’s father. I’m sure he had to get a license to legally drive the motorcycle.
Too bad he didn’t have to get one to have his child. Because I’m pretty sure he would have failed the test.
