Thanksgiving Games and Activities for Children

Don't be a turkey. Give your kids some fun things to do this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday, quite possibly because it’s managed to maintain its integrity throughout the years. Uniquely unadulterated, it’s refused to sell out to Hallmark executives. There is no endless string of parties, stockings or gifts — just fellowship, food and gratitude.

And football, too, I suppose. You know. If I’m being honest, and all. But in order for me to maximize the one weekend a year I still allow myself to veg-out in front of the television for hours at a time, it behooves me to make sure my little ones are occupied. The following list of Thanksgiving-related games and activities ought to do the trick.

My three-year-old triplets love to color. Lucky for me KabooseDotCom has me covered. By simply clicking on any of these links below, I’ll be able to quickly print out any number of cool images which let them get their magic marker on.

Like this turkey.
Or this turkey pilgrim.
Or this pilgrim couple.
Or maybe this thanksgiving harvest.

While the tiny trio is busy coloring, our 9 year-old might want something a little more sophisticated to pass her time.

Like this word puzzle.
Too easy? Try this word puzzle.
Or maybe a Thanksgiving-themed maze might be a better option. This one helps a turkey escape to the woods.

You know what all four of our kids love to do? Crafts. KabooseDotCom has some really cool ones.

Like these paper cup turkeys.
Or these spoon pilgrims.
Or, my personal favorite, the pine-cone turkey.

I know what you’re thinking. Coloring, doing mazes and making crafts are fine. But what about games?

Here’s a link to a page with a picture of two different pilgrims. I wonder which of the kids can spot the most differences between the two.
Here’s a link that will let your kids color a turkey online.
This next one is awesome. It’s an interactive memory game where your kids try to match the different Thanksgiving tiles.

Anyone who’s read any of my posts knows that I love a good laugh. Here’s a link to some Thanksgiving jokes and riddles.

I’ve given you 14 different links, but that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what KabooseDotCom has to offer. Go check ‘em out and see for yourself. There are countless other activities and games for you and your kids to enjoy.

No matter what you decide to do with your day, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
