You had to scrape the bottom of the barrel there to get to ten movies. Are we really supposed to pretend that Bride Wars, Runaway Bride, Made of Honor, The Proposal, and The Wedding Planner weren’t downright dreadful? I’d watch American Wedding over any of those. At least it was funny and I cared about the characters.

  2. mommyfriend says:

Linda, I honestly haven’t seen American Wedding. I’m off to update my Netflix queue now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, all time doesn’t seem to include anything before 1980. What about The Philadelphia Story? Or the original Father of the Bride with Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor? One 80s movie that is often overlooked, but one of the funniest about wedding planning, is “True Love” with Annabella Sciorra. They go to a banquet hall that offers to dye the mashed potatoes to match the wedding colors. For great wedding scenes in movies, the opening of The Deer Hunter or the wedding scene from The Sound of Music. And, don’t forget one of the most quoted movies about “Mawwaige,” The Princess Bride.

What about Four Weddings and a Funeral?

Linda, where were you when I was writing this post, sister! Another great one is Monsoon Wedding if you like foreign films.

  7. Linda, T.O.O. says:

Oh yes, I love Monsoon Wedding!
