'Today Show' & 'Good Morning America' Cancel Their Halloween Hijinks Due to SandySunny Chanel
I don’t know about you, but I gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed that I won’t be waking up on Halloween morning to see Matt Lauer strutting around in drag, Al Roker wearing a wig or those crazy ladies from the third hour Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb wearing something totally wacky in the annual Today Show Halloween extravaganza. But the Today Show and Good Morning America have opted to cancel their special Halloween programming due to Hurricane Sandy.
GMA was planning on doing a “Ghoul Morning America” special Halloween show that was to be a “epic super-party in Times Scare,” but they cancelled too. “Due to Hurricane Sandy, ‘GMA’s Halloween show is canceled for tomorrow,” ABC said in a statement. “‘GMA’ will continue to provide comprehensive coverage and report on the latest on those millions affected by the devastating storm.”
Also nixing the Halloween theme is Live with Kelly and Michael who had 40, yes 40, costumes planned. But they’re not cancelling the whole shebang; they’re just delaying it until next Monday.
These Halloween programs have become a yearly tradition, but this Halloween isn’t like our past Halloweens. It would seem forced, odd and insensitive if these two New York City-based shows continued with their over-the-top dress up shenanigans.
Will you miss the morning TV Halloween hijinks?
