Top 25 iPhone Photo Apps for Parents

Many of us have the urge to document every single moment, every cute face, and every big first in our child's life. Since, thanks to our iPhones, we now have a camera with us at all times, we're actually able to do it. The Apple iPhone 4 includes a 5-megapixel camera with a built-in LED flash, which makes the quality of the images as good, if not better, than most point-and-shoot cameras on the market. And on top of that, the iPhone also offers more than 4,000 apps devoted to the art (and fun) of photography; these apps make it possible to do everything from adding captions to your favorite images to shooting vintage-looking pics. The apps chosen for our top 25 list offer tools to help you create, edit, and share beautiful memories of your little loves to help you capture the moments you'll want to preserve forever. Animoto Videos’ Rankings

This free app doesn’t actually record videos but instead strings together a series of photographs and sets them to music to create 30-second slideshows. Each slideshow incorporates around ten photos, but if you sign up for a paid plan – $5 per month and up – with Animoto you can select from longer slideshow lengths using more pictures. No matter the plan, you select the pictures and the order in which they appear, and Animoto edits them together. Finished slideshows are then emailed to you so you can watch them on Animoto’s website or on your phone. (They can also be shared through Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Digg, Messenger, and other social-media sites.) The only downside we could find to the free version of this app is the very limited music selection available to add tunes to your slideshows. So if you’re looking for more than just unknown bands and odd recordings of classical music, you might want to upgrade to a paid plan.
