Recently the MomCrunch writers got into a conversation about some of *our* favorite TV shows we put on to occupy the kids now and then while we work. As opposed to the shows the kids wish we’d let them watch but drive us crazy (we’re looking at you Big Time Rush…).
Whether you need the kids to be entertained so you can work, clean, cook or just take a breather — I’m sure you have your favorites and least favorites as well. Here are our top 5 shows:
Iron Chef America 1 of 5Believe it or not my 4, 7 and 9 year old kids adore this show and know all the chefs by name and number of wins, and even have their favorite chefs! Bonus: it helps the kids want to try new food.
iCarly 2 of 5This was a favorite among most of our writers!
Olivia 3 of 5She is sweet and the show is rather mellow. Perfect to help kids NOT get wild and wooly.
Phineas and Ferb 4 of 5This show has it all - smart writing, cute animation and a formula small kids can follow without being predictable.
Survivorman 5 of 5My kids never fail to be amazed at Les's abilities and as a mom I like his realness and tendencies toward humility.
What shows have that “I don’t mind it” parent seal of approval from you?
