27. Artful Parent
The What’s What: The Artful Parent is a wonderfully all-inclusive site for parents looking for creative ideas and activities to share with their kids. You can learn how to set up an art space for kids, what art supplies you may wish to have on hand, and even how to talk to your kids about art. You’ll also find hundreds of arts-and-crafts projects you can draw, paint, collage, sculpt or model with your kids. And it’s all remarkably well organized, so you won’t get too overwhelmed.
The Mama: The Artful Parent’s Jean Van’t Hul, who calls herself a “writer and children’s art enabler,” lives with her husband and two daughters in the mountains of western North Carolina. She has written for parenting magazines and websites and has a book, The Artful Parent: Simple Ways to Fill Your Family’s Life with Art and Creativity, due out this April.
