14. Oh Happy Day
The What’s What: This party and lifestyle blog run by event planner Jordan Ferney, which was also featured on last year’s list, is updated daily with ideas for DIY party projects, party and wedding planning, interior design, invitations, photography, kids products and, Ferney says, “anything ‘pretty.’” Among its posts about affordable design and entertainment tips, you’ll find printables and DIY projects you really can make without breaking the bank or a sweat. Recent projects include a tree heart installation using nothing but construction paper, yarn, tape and scissors, and an awesome pink party hat piñata we can’t wait to try at our next fiesta. Get ready to get your craft on.
The Mama: Jordan Ferney, who launched Oh Happy Day in May 2006 and has overseen its impressive growth, is an event planner based in San Francisco, where she has returned after a year in Paris. She has helped plan events for former SF Mayor Willie Brown as well as with well-known event designer Stanlee Gatti, and has blogged about style for Babble.
