Alessandra Gutierrez, mom of two boys, Jeffersonton, VA.
Why We Love Her:
When Alessandra returned to the States after a two-year stint managing her family’s 1500-acre rain forest preservation in Costa Rica, she missed the affordability and uniqueness of having her children’s clothes handmade. Instead of outsourcing, she decided to try her hand at sewing for her two little boys, which blossomed into her LaLa’s Pequeños company. Right now she specializes in making incredibly luxurious, cocoon-like swaddling “noonies,” providing a stylish way to keep babies warm and snug. Made from a wide variety of organic fabrics, the noonie is one of our favorite gifts for expectant moms – so much that we’re eagerly awaiting the launch of her new children’s clothing line that uses hemp, soy and other alternative materials.
