Sarah Hoffman’s not your typical mommy blogger. But then again, her son isn’t your typical little boy, either. He’s a Pink Boy – “like a tomboy, only different,” as she puts it. Most moms start blogging out of desire. Sarah started blogging out of obligation – one she felt to all the other Pink Boys and their families. So she took to the pen, not only on her blog, but also on others sites, like the Huffington Post and Salon, in hopes of raising awareness and understanding for the plight of Pink Boys.
Her compassionate pieces have touched countless as evidenced by being named one of Babble’s mominees for Moms who are changing the world. But it’s not just her compassion that has moved so many, it’s also her eloquence – Sarah Hoffman is an uncommonly gifted writer. It’s just too bad she has to write under a pseudonym out of safety concerns for her family. Thanks to her efforts, however, that may change one day. Here’s to hoping it’s one day soon.
