This week we’re also starting a new feature in this column — the Dopey Twilight Item Of The Week.
Read on for details.
Marvel Adventures Super Heroes #18: The cover of this one features Nova making a funny face. It’s amusing if you are either under 10 or immature.
Marvelous Land Of Oz #1 2nd Ptg: The comic book version of the L. Frank Baum classic made it to a second printing.
Uncanny X-Men First Class #6
Don Bluths Space Ace #4: Remember Space Ace? It was a video game that was graphically ahead of its time but the gameplay was horrible. This probably appeals to folks’ sense of nostalgia, and maybe that gets them to buy the comic for their kids, who may enjoy it on its own merits.
Disney Pixars Toy Story #0: Pretty good comic (although I say once again that this “issue zero” nonsense is annoying to me). You know who wrote it? Jesse Blaze Snider, Dee Snider’s son. I’ll post a review soon.
Disney Pixars World Of Cars Radiator Springs #4: “Cars” is my least favorite Pixar film. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Muppet Show Vol 2 #0: The popular series starts a new round of issues.
Archie & Friends #138: Part 2 of “A Night at the Comic Shop.”
Pals N Gals Double Digest #137
Mickey Mouse And Friends #298
Scooby Doo Vol 6 #151
Super Friends Vol 2 #22: Non-sequitor — did anyone see the recent episode of “Smallville” that featured a version of The Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna? Gleek was reduced to a cellphone. It was completely stupid and I liked it anyway. Here’s the trailer for the episode so you can see just how stupid it was.
Borderline Kids Stuff/Older Kids
These titles only borderline because I haven’t checked them out. We are nothing if not responsible.
DC Holiday Special 2009 #1
Ghostbusters Holiday Special Past Present And Future
Very Zombie Christmas
Classics Illustrated Vol 7 Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde HC
Spider-Man & The Secret Wars #1: New stories from the classic Marvel Secret Wars series that came out many years ago. Because there were many unanswered questions. (Not.)
Army Of Darkness Ash Saves Obama #4: More Baracksploitation.
Boys Definitive Edition Vol 2 HC With Slipcover: So not for kids AT ALL. But a great gift for someone who is even a modest fan of comics. Great series.
And now, the Dopey Twilight Item Of The Week.
Are you ready?
Collectible Entertainment Weekly Covers! Team Edward and Team Jacob! Oh, and Team Bella. I didn’t know that was a choice.
Check out this quote from Robert Pattinson, via JustJared: “I don’t know how the Beatles felt but I imagine it was close to this. Very few human beings will ever get to experience the love we feel at Twilight events.”
Oy. Vey. Here are the covers for those of you who want to see them.
