I’ve always been fascinated by twins and the bond they apparently share.
The photo you’re about to see definitely increases my intrigue.
The remarkable image, taken at a hospital in northern Spain, shows twins holding hands shortly after birth.
As The Huffington Post reports, Danel and Maria were delivered by Caesarean section at a hospital in Gipuzkoa, Spain and put alongside each other in an incubator. Immediately they grabbed for each other and began holding hands even though they’re each looking in a different direction. Danel and Maria were placed alongside each other in an incubator when the twins grabbed a hold of each other, Spanish-language wire service EFE reports.
“They each looked different ways and yet they naturally joined hands,” Dr. Javier Rodriguez told EFE.
Calling the embrace “instinctive,” Dr. Javier Rodrigues says this is the first time he has seen anything like it. The staff was so thrilled a nurse ran for a camera to capture the moment. The twins are now 4 months old. The photo only recently went viral because it was published on the website of a local newspaper.
Parents, Naiara and Mario Morales, say they are shocked by all the attention the photo is getting but one look at the sweet pic and you’ll be able to see why. Check it out in the video below.
