One of my favorite new apps is the Vine app – brought to you by the folks who brought us Twitter. Not familiar with Vine? Think of it as a mash-up between Instagram and Twitter – but it’s all short videos that are 6 seconds in length. While I haven’t grabbed onto it like I did Twitter when it launched, as a mom to 4 kids – I often find great moments that for me are Vine-worthy.
I know the app is new but still, Vine has issues. One of which is a login issue which has me now with 2 accounts, the other are the lack of common things in many social media apps today – such as being able to mention someone.
Vine Update – 1.1
Today Vine released the 1.1 update with features that I’ve heard many in the Vine community asking for… including mentions! They have also made an update so you can now use your front-facing camera — HELLO SELFIES and they have also improved their people search.
While there is still a list of major improvements that I’d love to see on Vine – I’m glad to see that the app isn’t dying. I see more and more people jumping on board with this 6-second video trend and it’s a fun to see people perspectives in motion. (Another perk – a video on repeat of a dog running in circles will keep the toddler entertained for at least 5 minutes.)
