I, for one, am a firm believer that Disneyland is a magical place. It is fun, it is exciting and it is timeless. And its timelessness is highlighted in this vintage Disneyland home movie from 1956, when the park was just a year old.
Filmmaker Jeff Altman shared a home movie that his grandfather had shot at the Magic Kingdom, a clip that is yet again making the rounds to the delight of many a Disneyland fan (rediscovered by the Huffington Post). The vintage video shows rides that are no longer (the Skyway), rides that are still popular today (the tea cups and Dumbo), and Walt Disney himself who just happened to be hanging out at the park that day.
But the thing to note the most is the before mentioned timelessness of Disneyland and how the place looks as magical then as it is now.
