The whole point of taking your dino crazed kid to Walking With Dinosaurs is to see mammoth robotic dinosaurs – we’re talking 36 feet tall and 56 feet from nose to tail. So imagine one of those gigantic things just up and walking away.
The people behind the live show based on a BBC paleontology series reported one of their dinos went missing in Mexico on Friday after opening day in Guadalajara.
And because the robbers apparently couldn’t fathom taking one of those gargantuan creatures out either, the missing dino is one of the smaller creatures at just 1.5 meters (about 4.9 feet tall).
According to the BBC, it was likewise the least expensive in the show at just $90,000. Yes, we said “just” $90,000 (it sounds worse in Australian dollars at $100,000). The larger beasts cost closer to $1 million.
The theft won’t stop the show with all those dinosaurs left to roam coliseums. And they’ll be back in the states right after Christmas with dates in Detroit followed by a host of spots in 2010.
