What Are the Chances? Twin Sisters Give Birth on Same Day

We all know twins are mysterious creatures who can feel one another’s pain and speak in a language that only they can understand. But can you imagine being so in tune with your twin sister that you both give birth on the same day? That’s what happened to Zaakira Mitchell and Shaakira White (love it when twins have rhyming names!) who both delivered healthy babies on July 24. And guess what? Yes, one of them had twins!

ABC News reports, “Mitchell, whose due date was July 26, elected to be induced July 24 and arrived at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, accompanied by her twin sister. White, due on August 16, had scheduled a check-up that day and told her doctor she had been having contractions that morning … not only was she going into early labor, she was five to six centimeters dilated.” White was prepped for a C-section which resulted in the birth of twins Landon and London. (Alliteration is good, too.) Mitchell gave birth to a boy named Kadin.

Mitchell was thrilled to give birth on the same day as her sister. She told ABC, “She’s my best friend so for us to share this, it was really special and it was really emotional.” Awwwww! Makes me wish I had a twin sister. But instead I think I’ll ask my (step-)sister who is 10 years older than me if she feels like giving motherhood one more try! Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!
