What Teachers Really Want: The Best End of School Year Gifts

Teachers work hard.

Tell me something I don’t know, teachers are thinking.

You know how tired you get after spending a few hours with your kids? Yeah. They do it all day and it ain’t just your kids. I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Point is, you gotta hook up your kids’ teachers with nice end of the school year gifts. Yes, you do. Like tipping your babysitter at Christmas, it’s the polite thing to do.

But what does a teacher want?

I spotted this list on Buzz Feed and thought a few items were worth sharing here. And, after perusing the comments sections of Buzz Feed and other teacher gift round-ups on the Internet, I added a few items to the list because I do believe I now know exactly what teachers want.

Click onward and I guarantee you’ll know exactly what to get the teachers in your life.

  • Funny Mug 2 of 11
    gift-01

Let's be clear, the last thing a teacher needs is another mug. They get a ton of 'em. Just ask any teacher you know. So if you're going the mug route it's gotta be funny. Bonus points for stuffing it with teacher's favorite candy. Or this. If this mug rocks your world you can get it here on Etsy.

I couldn't resist this one because what teacher doesn't want her own name hanging in these adorable flags? Probably the teacher that would rather have this gift, but still! Adorbs. You can get it here.

  • Gift Card 10 of 11
    gift-09

Okay, let's be honest. Impersonal, maybe, but a high percentage of teachers would prefer this to every previous gift.  You know how much money teachers spend out of their own pockets for school supplies? Hook 'em up for the next school year with a gift card to an office supply store. I also have it on good teacher authority that this site is awesome. They offer gift cards! 3,2,1 GO!

  • Thank You Letter 11 of 11
    gift-10

The thank you letter is underrated these days. What teacher wouldn't want a thoughtful note from your child's heart? Throw in a gift card and you've got the ultimate gift for teacher. Right teachers?
