My husband thought it was strange when I took a picture of our daughter last weekend asleep under her bed with a very visible bandage from stitches she received a few weeks ago.
“It looks like we put her there, and that we’re also that proud of her scars or something,” he said.
“Oh, please,” I replied. “I think it’s cute. Besides, no one will ever see the picture besides us.”
And yet here it is. I’m not embarrassed by it, but maybe I should be. After all, there are plenty of idiot parents who take pictures of their kids in not cute or vile parenting moments. And somehow, some way, the pictures get out there for the world to see. There’s a website called Parent Fails that memorializes those anti-June Cleaver moments.
