The birth of a child is an exciting time for most parents. But imagine having the birth of your child coupled with a proposal from the grownup love of your life? At a time when your heart is bursting with more love than you believed it could contain it finally happens. And what sweeter way than to involve the little person the two of you made together?

A father from the UK saw fit that the little lady in his life help him ask for her mother’s hand in marriage. The tiny newborn was dressed by her father in a “baby grow” (onesie) that had a very special message printed on it.

Having been together for five years and being the parents of a three year old son, it is possible that this was a moment that was a long time coming for the couple. According to BBC News, Miss Jones cried “a lot of tears.” She also said yes and at the same time, experienced a “high heart rate,” according to her midwife who ran to the room after hearing the heart monitors going off.  Perhaps it was an indicator of the likely possibility that Miss Jones’s heart must have been happy too.

Her now fiancé, Mr. Thompson, said he found the onesie online and felt it was the “prefect idea!” The happy couple, their son Rueben, and newest addition Harley Violet have a lot to celebrate — new life and a new chapter for their family of four. For more on this story visit BBC News.

What do you think of the idea of incorporating children in a marriage proposal?
