Top 50 Mom Blogs, 2010

Babble's inaugural Top 50 Mom Blogger list began by saying that "mom bloggers make a difference." Well, it's 2010 now, and you'd have to be under a parenting stone not to know that already. Not only do they make "a" difference, but for many moms in cities and towns and burbs nationwide they make the difference, providing information, LOLs, "I've-been-there-sister" reassurance, and perhaps more than anything, the camaraderie that helps get you through the long, breakfast-till-you-put-them-down day.

As a collective, mom bloggers have given the previously too closed, too private, too go-through-it-alone experience of motherhood a voice. And does that voice travel! From major media figures including Lisa Belkin of the New York Times blog Motherlode to ma-without-pop operations such as Bacon Is My Enemy, these virtual sisters are broadcasting their real-mom experiences loud and clear.

And we couldn't be more happy to help them be heard. So for this year's Top 50, we had a group of mom blogger/parenting experts make their choices, then we dug over the data and compiled the 50 mom bloggers you should be following for 2010.

It was tough to trim it to 50, but that's where you come in. Please, please, nominate your favorites, too! Let the world know just how many and how great the mom bloggers out there are. We're all one big community, and the better we know each other, the more we all benefit. Look for your nominations on our 2011 list next year and, in the meantime, read, write, and link up. We're all in it together!

  1. These lists are getting a little repetitive. I mean, these ladies are great, but I’m pretty sure there’s nothing new here, guys.

  2. Really? Did you cut and paste from years past? I mean, great bloggers…. STILL…but this is getting old. Remember when Babble was relevant?

  3. Same old, same old. Let’s get some new talent, please.

  4. I’d add Rene Syler’s Good Enough Mother to the list!

  5. Yeah, but that’s why it’s a list of TOP bloggers, not NEW or up and coming, you know? That would be a different list. There’s a reason you’ve heard of them all before, because they’re the top bloggers and that’s what they’re listing here.

  6. Where are Sweet|Salty and Julia (Here there be Hippogriffs)?

  7. You have no idea how many times I’ve clicked through to read so many of these amazing writers.

  16. these two are new time moms, but i love their blogs and information: unruly little things and baby mine

  17. Where’s Dear Baby? Melissa Jordan writes an incredible blog that appeals even to women who aren’t moms. Her writing is genuine, thoughtful and inspiring. Hundreds, if not thousands, of us have been reading about her life with Everly and Arlo since the beginning, and she surely deserves more recognition of her wonderful blog!

  18. I am sorry but my top 2 aren’t here… http://www.moneysavingmom, http://www.southernsavers.com. I occasionally read Pioneer Woman, she’s great.

Where do these lists come from?

They’ve been blogging about saving money and deals since 2003!
