Top 50 Mom Blogs, 2010
Babble's inaugural Top 50 Mom Blogger list began by saying that "mom bloggers make a difference." Well, it's 2010 now, and you'd have to be under a parenting stone not to know that already. Not only do they make "a" difference, but for many moms in cities and towns and burbs nationwide they make the difference, providing information, LOLs, "I've-been-there-sister" reassurance, and perhaps more than anything, the camaraderie that helps get you through the long, breakfast-till-you-put-them-down day.
As a collective, mom bloggers have given the previously too closed, too private, too go-through-it-alone experience of motherhood a voice. And does that voice travel! From major media figures including Lisa Belkin of the New York Times blog Motherlode to ma-without-pop operations such as Bacon Is My Enemy, these virtual sisters are broadcasting their real-mom experiences loud and clear.
And we couldn't be more happy to help them be heard. So for this year's Top 50, we had a group of mom blogger/parenting experts make their choices, then we dug over the data and compiled the 50 mom bloggers you should be following for 2010.
It was tough to trim it to 50, but that's where you come in. Please, please, nominate your favorites, too! Let the world know just how many and how great the mom bloggers out there are. We're all one big community, and the better we know each other, the more we all benefit. Look for your nominations on our 2011 list next year and, in the meantime, read, write, and link up. We're all in it together!

Joanne Bamberger | PunditMom

According to Joanne Bamberger, the liberal-minded mother behind PunditMom, “having an opinion never goes out of style.” And so in this mama-goes-to-Washington blog, Bamberger covers the news in a smart, inspiring way, reminding us just how important politics are for mothers.
Bamberger posts on topics like healthcare, equal pay, and the economy as they relate to women. She also publishes a column called Mothers of Intention, in which guest-bloggers write pieces that speak to current issues (one recent entry from a pregnant woman about less-than-desirable medical insurance). It serves all women to pay attention to this blog, since women-related issues sit at the forefront of politics. Amid our obligations, PunditMom gives women a reason to get involved.
