Kelle of Enjoying the Small Things

Her Rankings

The pictures, the pictures, the words. When former fifth-grade teacher Kelle Hampton decided to close the doors of her classroom and open her camera shutter just a little more often, she could not have known how much her “writing and photography hobbies” would move the rest of us. But they have.

Enjoying the Small Things is the chronicle of a beautiful life – and a blog that changed significantly the day Nella Cordelia, Kelle’s youngest, was born with Down Syndrome. But whether it’s the beautiful, wrenching story of Nella’s birth or the photographs of scuffed-up little girl legs, Kelle always shows us the simple, genuine, unexpected beauty in the world around us, and for that we are profoundly thankful.

Can’t wait to read more about everything in her forthcoming book, Blooming: Finding Beauty in the Unexpected.

I am so proud of my many friends on this list — I count at least a dozen of you! (Plus others whom I admire from afar.) And yet, Babble.com, I couldn’t help but notice that all 100 appear to be straight women… Babble, you seem too cool to have missed all the awesome lesbian mom blogs. May I recommend LesbianDad.net, UpPoppedaFox.com, PeachesAndCoconuts.com, or DebOnTheRox.com, just off the top of my head?

Oops, didn’t mean to comment anonymously. The lesbian mom blog recommendations are from Liza of LizaWasHere.com & LesbianFamily.org

And further crap. So not meaning to put this on Kelle’s blog page in particular. Apparently this morning I am technologically challenged. Sorry!
