Here’s a mama who will keep up the good fight, even when it’s incredibly difficult. While we’ve always been fans of Katie Granju’s blog, MamaPundit and her posts on both her Babble Voices blog Home/Work and Babble Kids, these last years have shows us a side of her we truly admire.

When Katie lost her son Henry to drug addiction in 2010, her grief transformed into a quest for justice that has transformed her – and her blog – into a force to be reckoned with. Approximately 15 months after she swore to Henry that she would do everything possible to make sure no other kids in their area would be hurt by the same drug dealers who had profited from his addiction and left him for dead, Katie’s fight resulted in the indictments of all three for multiple felony drug trafficking charges. While she will always live with the pain of losing her son, Katie’s incredible journey has been a remarkable inspiration and lesson for all of us about doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.
