We’re not going to love the Bloggess just because Ellen DeGeneres and Barack Obama are fans, or because her tagline, “Like Mother Teresa, Only Better,” just seems to get better with age, or because her response to a ridiculous platitude about God closing a door but opening a window really gets to the heart of father/son relationships and the nature of air conditioning.
We adore the Bloggess, a.k.a. Jenny Lawson, because she manages to be cripplingly funny in everything she does – including stints at the Houston Chronicle as a parenting columnist, and at Eden’s Fantasy as a sex satirical columnist – and because she reaffirms our faith that having a kid is not at odds with having razor-sharp wit and being unafraid to use it.
