U.S. Navy Sailor, Dressed as Darth Vader, Surprises His Son, Luke Skywalker!

Luke, I am your father. (No, really, I am!)

Being a military family isn’t easy on anyone. The deployed parent misses his or her spouse and kids desperately. The spouse back in the United States needs to fill the role of both mom and dad. And the kids? Well, the kids just want their absentee parent safe — and home.

A man in the Navy was deployed overseas for the first-time ever earlier this year and wasn’t expected home until December. But in May — after he’d been gone for three months — he got a 96-hour leave to come home for his son’s Star Wars-themed birthday party. Instead of telling the kids before he arrived, the dad thought another way to announce his arrival.
