‘Youre Doing OK, Mom: New Commerical Features Breastfeeding (VIDEO)Meredith Carroll
“I think this is a good time to tell you: You’re doing OK, Mom.”
“I can call you Mom, right?”
“I know we haven’t known each other very long, but you seem like a real keeper.”
“You’re not perfect, but you’re trying.”
“Anyway, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. You know, right? How much I love you?”
“You’re doing OK, Mom.”
That’s what a new-ish baby says to his mom in a Johnson’s Baby commercial (via Café Mom) guaranteed to make you bawl like, well, a baby. (At least it made me bawl as I watched it while holding my precious 6-month-old baby girl.)
Oh, and the spot features a quick breastfeeding shot. You know, because breastfeeding is no big deal, right?
Take a look at the commercial (and keep a box of Kleenex handy):
P.S. I could talk now about the bad PR Johnson & Johnson has had lately, or about how breastfeeding always seems to be in the headlines — for better or worse — but I kind of don’t want to ruin this spot, about which Johnson’s Baby says: “If your baby could talk, he’d say you’re doing great. JOHNSON’S® Baby proudly recognizes all that moms do for their babies.”
Sometimes a super sweet, tearjerker of a commercial is just a super sweet, tearjerker of a commercial. Or at least it should be.
