There are so many national holidays out there that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of them all! Take National Boss Day, which falls on October 16, for example. Turns out it’s easy to come up with holidays: this one came about after Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at a national insurance company, registered it with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, according to Hallmark. She chose that day in October because that was her dad’s birthday, and she thought he was a good boss! Ever since, people all around the world have celebrated.
As for me, I love a great boss — someone who motivates you do to better, acknowledges your hard work, and keeps you in line constructively when needed. Good bosses are not always easy to come by, but as a freelance writer who works from home, I have come into contact with some who fit the bill perfectly.
The other side of the work from home thing is it sometimes can be hard to stay motivated to get work done. I am usually good with my productivity and consider myself having a good work ethic, but I know that’s not easy for everyone. Perhaps you have a stressful job with a quick turnaround and demanding bosses? What I do know is if these guys were your boss, they would not be happy with your work lately.
