My cats are very happy — well, as happy as cats can let you know. They get attention from myself, my husband and my kids, they have food, water, shelter and toys. They also have each other which I think is an important thing for cats. My cats seem to really enjoy the companionship of each other — being actual cousins, they have been together since they have been born and love each other more than hate each other.
They are also indoor cats, never going outside except for the very rare “oh crap I left the door open” moments. They have windows to ogling at the birds flying by and a big backyard door that has brought them a lot of attention this year.
Last year the door on the fence in our backyard broke off the hinges and being the amazing handy-woman I am not, the door remains off a year later. This spring my cats have been getting a lot of callers from the neighbourhood cats. They come into our backyard, bathe in the sun and of course, taunt my cats.
There are like 5 different once who visit and you can always tell they are there, before even I see them. My cats are very territorial (as all cats are) and it’s easy to tell which ones are males and which are females by the way my two male cats react.
I find great humor in the whole thing — a funny form of entertainment for me and my kids.
