Helping Pets Beat The HeatMorgan Shanahan
The thing about the modern world and our love of domestic pets is that like their human counterparts, most of our poor pups and kitties are all scrambled up across the globe, nowhere near the climates they were bred for. While we know what we’re in for (well, sometimes) it’s one of our duties as pet owners to make sure our pets stay comfortable in crazy weather. Like, for instance here in Los Angeles where lately it’s been spiking at random to over 100 degree heat. I mean, let’s be honest, your Husky doesn’t exactly have “beach bum” in his genetic makeup.
So to help your pets stay cool this summer, I’ve come up with a list of goodies for dogs and cats alike designed for doing just that.
Ultra Paws Cool Boots 1 of 7
Hot asphalt isn't much kinder on paws than it is on bare feet - particularly if your pooch isn't used to it. Ultra Paws are easy to slip on, hard to slither out of, and will keep your dog trotting happily along.
Frogg Togg Chilly Pad 2 of 7
A great, sustainable, portable way to keep your pet (and you!) cool on the go. Great as a wrap, a mat, or even to cool you down, the Chilly Towel comes with a carrying case and fits in your bag. (Available HERE.)
Kool Collar 3 of 7
The Kool Collar comes with a reusable ice-tube, but works best with ice-cubes, which run down your pup's neck while they melt, keeping him cool.
Gulpy Water Bottle 4 of 7
This little guy comes in incredibly handy for getting your pooch to drink on the go. Also fantastic for bottle feeding sick or infirm pets. We love our Gulpy. (Available HERE.)
Aqua Buddy Automatic Waterer 5 of 7
If you're gone on long hot summer days, an automatic waterer is a great idea to make sure dogs and cats alike don't run out of H20. (Available HERE.)
Self-Cooling Pad 6 of 7
Placing self-cooling pads in favorite sitting spots are a great, dry idea for helping your pets stay cool. (Available HERE)
Kong Easy Freeze 7 of 7
Have a pup who loves his Kong? Freeze these little refills for the rubber toys and watch pets keep busy AND stay hydrated. (Available HERE.)
