Mufasa The Cat Falls 14 Floors...And Lives!

Mufasa the cat falls, Mufasa cat falls from apartment building, cat falls, Raquel Daniel, cat injuries
Poor Mufasa suffered a steep fall, but unlike in the Lion King, he lived to tell (or meow) about it!

How far do you think your cat could fall …. and live?

Of course, we all know that our furry friends have nine lives but in reality, a steep fall could take up all nine. One Cleveland cat, who had never been out a day in his life fell 14 floors… and then got lucky.

Mufasa (yes, that’s really his name!) fell from the 14th floor of a high-rise apartment building.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the kitty survived a month and three days in a nearby wooded area until he was found.

Cleveland.com reports that owner, 26-year-old Raquel Daniel, frantically searched for him, and hung posters offering a $500 reward, yet no one ever saw him. Eventually, the clever cat walked back to the exact location where he landed and was found.

Mufasa has a broken left front paw, and also lost a lot of weight. Affectionately known as “Mumu,” the fierce feline is scheduled for surgery to reset the bones that had already began to heal misaligned.

Owner Daniel is beyond thrilled to have finally found her beloved cat:

“He is so happy to be back home safe and sound,” Daniel said.

Ironically named after the Mufasa from Disney’s Lion King, thankfully, this adorable Mufasa has a much happier end to a steep fall!

Has your cat ever fallen from a very high spot? Or out of a window?
