Nail Polish Art for Dogs? Apparently This is a 'Thing' (Photos)

By Sunny Chanel |

You know what’s weirder than one company making a nail polish line for dogs? Two companies making a nail polish line for dogs.  Yes, there are two different companies who market colored nail polish for pups. First there is OPI’s Pawlish, the popular nail polish line for humans branched out and has created a line for canines. They note that, “Pawlish is tested on people, not animals!” They even make “It’s Dog Gone! Pawlish Remover,” for when your doggie is ready to make a hue change.   The other line is Color Paw Premium Pet Nail Polish that comes in colors from Raspberry Sparkle to Electric Lime.

Evidently, there are buyers for the brands and even doggie salons who specialize in nail polish application on paws. Maybe your dog is a diva and struts around in Sangria Shimmer but this phenomenon is new to me. And even odder, owners and pet nail technicians are creating dog nail art with complicated patterns – not just your basic layer of pink.

I’ll admit, I’ve painted my dog’s nails before. But that was for my own entertainment. I was bored and I am no good at painting my own right hand with my left hand…

I’ve also put mascara on her to make it look like she has eyebrows. :-P
