Pet Food Recall: Diamond Pet Foods

Oh dear… apparently, Diamond Pet Foods is announcing further recalls of their products because of possible salmonella contamination.

Diamond Pet Foods is best known for its line of natural pet foods has been struggling with this issue since April 8th, where all production was stopped at their factory.

A second batch of recalls has been issues as of today.

You can see the full information about the recall here, but if you live in the eastern half of the US and bought Diamond Lamb and Rice Meal pet food, you might want to, you know, STOP FEEDING IT TO YOUR DOG.

Also included in the recall is the Diamond Puppy Formula.

Aw, not the puppy formula!

If you’re worried about your dog being exposed, here’s the information the Diamond Pet website is offering about the symptoms of salmonella in dogs:

Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.

If you’re worried about your dog, RUN DON’T WALK to the veterinarian. Don’t mess around. Okay?

To make you feel better, here’s a photo of a puppy being bottle fed. NOT DIAMOND PUPPY FORMULA. Promise.

Feel better?
