What’s Hotter Than a Fireman Rescuing A Kitten?

Don’t worry, the kitten survived.

I think fire fighters should get paid a million dollars a year. Seriously. These folks RUN INTO BURNING BUILDINGS TO SAVE PEOPLE. For a LIVING.

Yes. One million dollars a year. After taxes.

Fire fighters often rescue pets trapped in fires, even going so far as to give them CPR (to the best of their ability; lungs are configured differently in animals parallel rather than side by side) and oxygen to help them recover from smoke inhalation.

Get ready to feast your eyes on twenty amazing pet rescues done by our amazing underpaid heros. Prepare to weep with joy.

Dog Thanks Fireman For Rescuing Her
I had to pull the quote that went with this photo. "This firefighter saved this dog from her burning home. He carried her out of the house and into her front yard, then he returned to fight the fire. When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer noticed the dog in the yard watching the firefighter. There were other firefighters on the scene that day, but she was watching him. He saw the dog walk straight toward the man and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired firefighter, who had saved her life and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this photograph." (photo credit)
