When you’re searching for baby gear like diaper bags, burp cloths and baby carriers, you might not immediately think of Etsy.com. These are the kind of big purchases reserved for mega baby stores, not the handmade community.
We already know that Etsy is overflowing with ingenious, entrepreneurial, creative parents who often decided to make products that they couldn’t find themselves. Yes this is often cooler baby clothes and safer toys, but what about more stylish diaper bags? More functional burp cloths? Better baby books?
I recently compiled Babble’s Top 50 Etsy Baby Shops of 2012, and here are some of my favorite shops for baby products and gear:
BabyEtte 1 of 7These baby carriers are made by a mom who also happens to belong to the Baby Carrier Industry Alliance, always working to improve safety standards. Although she does have some lovely wrap carriers, Etsy buyers rave over her extra-wide silk ring slings.

Ikabags 7 of 7I'm obsessed with these stylish diaper bags handmade in Paris. And at under $100, it's a very reasonable price — especially considering you'll be using it way longer than you'll be changing diapers.
