14 Super Short, Totally Chic Boy Haircuts For The New Mother

Though I heard rumors to the contrary, you can, in fact, take a shower when you have a newborn. But strand-by-individual-strand sessions with a straightening iron? Hmmm. Everyone’s threshold for postpartum grooming is different but in general the fewer minutes with products and round brushes you require the better.

Enter the boy haircut. It’s made it’s comeback already. Michelle Williams, Ginnifer Goodwin and Winona Ryder are just a few the celebrities who’ve successfully worked the look. I’ve seen it more and more around New York on women who look adorable and sexy with pageboys or messy boy shags. Though perhaps forever associated with Satanic symbolism, Mia Farrow’s Rosemary’s Baby pixie look is, nevertheless, completely awesome. She may have been carrying Satan’s spawn but the hair? Genius.

The short crop can be punk like Pink or classic like Audrey Hepburn. It is effortlessly chic and youthful and possibly the most convenient mom cut ever. It *never* requires blow-drying. Here are some images to inspire you. Not all of these women are mothers, but that’s my point: Just because you had a baby doesn’t mean you have to succumb to mom jeans and a mom haircut.
