Whew. Today was one doctors appointment where I had to take notes. This is the first pregnancy that isn’t feeling like it’s flying by, and I think that’s probably because I found out when I was 2 weeks pregnant. And well, I am already counting down the days until October.
The next weeks are going to be lots of fun. (Enter sarcasm here.) My doctor and I have officially decided that I will be starting the 17p shots next week, and will stop in to get them weekly. Yes, weekly doctors appointments, so fun. I will also be getting an early sugar test next week, just to make sure I don’t have a 2 week period of gestinational diabeties like I did 2 pregnancies ago.
But what I am really concerned about are the weekly shots. Did you decide to do the 17p? Did you have side effects? Was it successful? Those are the questions that are burning my brain. I want to know what the doctor doesn’t tell you. I will countinue with sonos every 3 weeks and the doctor wants me to get a temporary handicapped pass so I am not walking far distances. There is always a first for everything!
Thankfully, my blood pressure is doing well. The asprin a day really does help. Besides the pre-term labor, soon-to-be bed rest, and keeping a close eye on that baby — anemia seems to be once again, a huge concern. I am doing my best by taking iron 2X a day and eating spinach. I desperately don’t want an iron transfusion. Desperately. As for everything else, this is the first time my first trimester screening came back 100% normal. It is amazing that there are no issues there. So for the time being, I am a happy preggo lady minus the little bit of insomnia I’ve been dealing with and constant worry of dilating. I just can’t go earlier than 36 weeks this time around. I can’t.
I am constantly concerned, since the word on the street is boy NICU babies don’t nearly do as good as girls. And well, our last one was born at 34 weeks and she was a fighter. By the way, she turns 1 tomorrow! And wow are we blessed to have her. I just really want to keep this baby cookin’ as long as possible. I am the only pregnant person I know who is dying to be overdue. Gosh, that would be amazing! I am sure I won’t be saying that later.
It still hasn’t officially sunk in that we are 110% having a BOY! You may remember my post on my feelings on having a boy (Wait, What?!…..Am I FINALLY Having A Boy?) and I am still not sure I can believe it, but I am beyond excited, minus the constant battle Mr. Darling and I have over names. That’s another story.
So, please – give me your feedback on the shots, the boy parts in these many different sono visits, and anemia. How did you battle it? As always, my readers have really helped me along the way so I look forward to your advice! And I will make sure to update you after my next big sono in 3-4 weeks!
