20 Elegant and Extravagant Nursery Rooms

By Devan McGuinness |

Imagine if money was not a factor and you could design your baby room however you wanted. You could hire the best-of-the-best designer or take the time and love to do it all yourself. Would you do something more classic and clean? Would you design something unique to your tastes or would you love to go over-the-top?

I never had a nursery with any of my kids. It was a combination of space and our decision to room/bed share with our kids. Also, confession — I am terrible at interior design. That doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate good inspiration — I love looking at room decor and seeing the imagination of others come out in a room. Baby nurseries are no exception.

Oh my, LOVE the storybook wishes!

  2. Rachel says:

I think my favorite is the Citrus, because it’s such a refreshingly different color palette. I also really like classic. It’s something that could be added to or easily changed as the parents discover what child’s personal tastes are. Silver lining looks like something I’d expect to see in Graceland. Not a fan of the princess theme. It’s just too much for me.

  3. allison says:

They all have crib bumpers!! please do some research into crib death / SIDS and decide if you think this is a good idea.

  4. danielle says:

that moon is gonna give some poor child serious nightmares!

  5. ladybug2010 says:

I don’t know what they are thinking to put a chandelier above the crib like that!…

  6. stephanie tellas says:

    that one is so gorgeous

  7. Anon says:

Just because they all have crib bumpers doesn’t mean they let the baby sleep in the crib with the bumpers in it. How many people sleep with all of the accent and throw pillows that are on their bed? I certainly don’t. And I know that throw pillows won’t kill me, the way a bumper may kill an infant. They are for decoration for the sake of the photograph. This article was supposed to show above-and-beyond nurseries, not meant to have people flip over the bumpers.

Some of these are nice (I think citrus was my favorite), but most of these are tacky to me.
