What Life Is Like At 33 Weeks

My little friend Hani and I.

33 week update:

I am officially 33 weeks pregnant today and have entered the stage of pregnancy where I’m just ready for it to be all over.

I suppose I probably shouldn’t be complaining.  I always feel a little guilty about it, since I’ve had basically one of the easiest pregnancies ever in the history of the world.  I’ve managed to avoid all of the awkward side-effects: pants peeing, massive boobs, getting up 20 times every night (I get up zero times during the night!), hairy-ness (actually it’s been the opposite!), heartburn, nausea, constipation… I’m actually super lucky.

But, even though it’s been a relative cake-walk, it doesn’t mean that I’m loving all this extra weight and tiredness and quite frankly, I’m just getting super excited to meet our little lady.  But, in the interest of living in the moment I’ve decided to make a list of what life is like at 33 weeks for me.

Read my list after the jump!

What Life Is Like At 33 Weeks Pregnant:

-I cry about all kinds of silly things. I even cried while watching “Sister Wives” the other day. I’m officially not allowed to watch TLC anymore until after the baby arrives.

-I finally had to retire the belly band.  I had grand schemes of wearing my regular pants throughout my pregnancy, but that’s fallen by the wayside.  It’s all maternity pants all the time from here on out (even though I hate them).

-I’ve become good friends with my heating pad – my tail bone hates me.

-I’ve had to start taking drinkable iron, because I’m a little anemic.  It tastes like pennies.

-It really doesn’t seem like my belly can get any bigger, but I know it still can (and will).

-My closet has been divided into clothes that fit and clothes that don’t in an effort to make getting dressed easier and to keep work days from beginning with tearful emotional melt-downs.

-I’ve sort of given up on looking cute. It’s kind of a lost cause when nothing fits.  I can be cute again in a couple of months.

-I have some seriously strange dreams.  Last week I had one that could’ve been straight out of one of the “Saw” movies.  Not ok.

-Had our first “response” from baby.  My husband poked at my belly and she poked back!  He then proceeded to do this about ten times before I got incredibly irritated and made him stop.

-I’ve always been super cold and could sleep with a sweatshirt on before, but now I’m always hot. Sleeping in shorts with the bedroom window open has become the norm.

-I’m wishing the nursery was finished, but we’re waiting to find out about a house we put an offer on.  Apparently we’re procrastinators.

-I grow more and more in love with our little Fern with each passing day.
