37 Week Dr.'s Appointment: Please Tell Me I'm Dilating!?!

My daughter and hubby all smiles at the doctor!

Today marked the start of my weekly visits to my OB/GYN. Fun stuff, let me tell you. Those two cuties to left, that’s my daughter, Joleen, and my husband, Brendon, and I’m pretty sure they had more fun at this appointment than I did…

As of yesterday, I can barely walk. My right hip feels like it’s popped out of its socket. I woke up Sunday morning feeling fine, and two hours later, I was limping around. As I limped into my doctor’s appointment today, my OB/GYN guessed that I might be starting to dilate, causing my hip to expand and be in pain.Wanting to know for sure, she got right down to business, and checked out my lady-bits… marking the start of my not-so fun weekly visits.

I forgot how much I hate getting checked. It just doesn’t feel too good. I wouldn’t say it hurts… it just doesn’t feel good. To make matters worse, I had to have my Group B Strep test done today. That test required my va-jay-jay, and booty-hole being swabbed… now do you see why this visit wasn’t so peachy?

However, there is some good news that came out of this appointment today… I’m now 1cm dilated, and 50% effaced. Last week when I had my little peeing-myself-fiasco, my cervix was still closed and thick, and I wasn’t dilated at all, so I’m making progress!

Hallelujah!

My doc still thinks this baby is coming the first week of May. I believe her. She predicted Joleen’s arrival down to the night I gave birth… we will see…
