I am very lucky to be spending my 28th week of pregnancy sharing a beach house with my husband’s family in Sullivans Island, South Carolina!
A lot of people have tried to tell me that being pregnant in the summertime is the worst. I definitely have to disagree. I have loved being pregnant during the summer months for a variety of reasons, one of which is certainly summer VACATION!
While some women may cringe at the idea of spending a week of the 3rd trimester in a bathing suit, I can’t think of any place I’d rather be. Here are 5 reasons it’s awesome to be pregnant at the beach…
Beach Chair Lounging 1 of 5I don't know about you, but there are certain days where I would give anything to sit in a chair all day long and feel like I had nothing else to do. Vacation is the perfect time to do just that. Even better when you can relax in a comfy chair and chat your day away with friends and family!
Unlimited Napping 2 of 5As someone who is always going, going, going - vacation is the one time that I don't feel guilty taking as many naps as I want. There is no better feeling than a mid-day nap at the beach with an ocean breeze coming in your window.
Ample Time for Reading 3 of 5Being at the beach all day allows for ample time to catch up on all the reading I am hoping to do before the arrival of our little boy. My hope is to leave the beach feeling a little more prepared and knowledgeable than when I came!
Summer Foods 4 of 5As soon as we got to our beach house, the first items that went on our grocery list were watermelon and corn. I personally indulge in delicious seasonal food all summer long, but there is something about eating at the beach that makes the berries seem crisper and the watermelon a bit juicier. Yum!
Beach Walking! 5 of 5If all the napping and reading makes you restless, a great way to fit in some pregnancy exercise is a relaxing long beach walk. As long as you prepare with a little extra sunscreen and water, strolling in the sand is a great way to get exercise while also enjoying all the sights and sounds of vacation.
What type of vacation do you prefer while pregnant?
