5 Things I Can't Wait to Do After Pregnancy

By Holly Whitney |

I promise this is a pre-pregnancy photo.

I enjoy being pregnant. No really, I do. Excluding the throwing up for weeks on end, the difficulty getting in and out of bed without rolling, and the like, of course. I love watching my belly grow. I love feeling the kicks and squirms of the baby inside me. I actually feel really lovely and womanly during pregnancy.

But there are some things that I have missed.

Things that I look forward to doing once I give birth.

The following would probably be the top five things I’m looking forward to after this pregnancy ends.

Drinking a margarita. I wouldn’t say I miss this the most since I’m not really an avid drinker but there is just something about a margarita in the summer. I make a killer margarita on the rocks and look forward to sitting in my backyard with my family, sipping on a nice icy cold margarita in a salted rim glass.

Taking a bike ride. I really do miss this one. I haven’t ridden my bike in well over a year and looked forward to doing that this Spring and Summer. Then I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa and my doctor told me bike riding was off limits for the rest of my pregnancy. I never got a chance to ride this year.

Eating yummy soft cheeses like Brie and fresh mozzarella. I love cheese. I’m making baked brie and a caprese salad when I get home from the hospital. Seriously.

Playing Just Dance. No, really. Before I found out I was pregnant I was a Just Dance junkie. I danced along with that game pretty much daily and worked up a big sweat doing so. I had even dropped over 10 pounds during and post holidays just from playing that game. The morning sickness and Placenta Previa put that on the back burner. I’m ready to dust it off again.

Sleeping on my stomach. I miss being able to sleep on my stomach. That is my favorite sleeping position. On my stomach and legs in a sort of figure four shape. I’m so ready to not be sleeping on my left side.

What about you? What do you—or did you—look most forward to doing after your pregnancy?

Why can’t you have fresh mozzarella or Brie? Most mozzarella is pasteurized and pasteurized Brie is easy to find.
