7 “Old Lady” Baby Names That Are Going Extinct

7 "Old Lady" Baby Names That Are Going ExtinctI am a big fan of unique names. I want my kids to grow up and not be the 5th “Emily” in their class. The names we’ve picked are not on any top 100 list. They certainly are not common either and the names we’re brainstorming for our next hopeful-baby are super unique as well.

It’s funny how naming trends seem to happen each year. There is always one boy name and one girl name that seem to be given to every new baby you hear of within those 365 days. There are names that seem to be popular from year to year and never out of style.

On the other hand though, there are names that used to be popular that you don’t hear much of anymore. Perhaps they were tainted with some scandal or they’re now considered “too old” for a tiny baby.

According to StyleBlazer, there are some baby names that are now considered only for “old ladies” and you don’t see them as new baby choices anymore.

I can't even see this name coming back in popularity since it's been so long since it was considered hip. The most popular year for this name was way back in 1951!

I do not like this name at all (apologies if it's your name) and don't see it coming back again either. The most popular year for this name was 1950.

This name always reminds me of a turtle since it rhymes so well. I can see this one going extinct. It was most popular in 1950.

This name was also most popular in 1950 and I don't think the love for this name will ever come back.

I don't really see this name as an "old lady" name and can see it being totally perfect for today's times. It was most popular in 1954 though.
