Bizarre or Awesome? 7 Unique Pregnancy Toys

By Devan McGuinness |

The holidays are fast approaching I have been doing a lot of online browsing this year. Looking for the perfect gift for my friends and kids. I like to find things that are unique – and if I’m getting toys for my kids I try to look for something that can be both fun and educational.

I came across some toys that I can’t decide if they are weird or awesome .I love that they are unique and can teach a lot about this stage in life and what goes on during pregnancy.

I just don’t know if these are more for children (which would be awesome) or if they are for adult collectors (which to me is bizarre).

I don’t feel these toys are for younger audiences unless they specifically ask for them. . .there’s no need to rush the teachings of conception/and the birthing process along any faster than it already is!

  2. Linda Bevier-Vian says:

I agree, these are not for young children. I do like the clothe dolls for my own collection. The rest I don’t care for.

  3. Sheree says:

A few if these would be good for teaching your child what’s happening if you are expecting again.

Some of these are bizarre and others not bad at all. The puzzles would be fine except the first puzzle piece is the only naked one… ??? Lol. I’ve seen photos of that Japanese doll and I find that thing just plain scary. Not to mention that’s depicting that the vagina looks like a grenade exploded out of it after labor. It does still look like a vagina after labor… Granted it may take some time. Lol. The Emile and Lorena doll made me laugh. So THAT’S what the Bratz dolls get for running around dressed promiscuously. Lmao The handmade doll, cute and simple although it could definitely star in a Lifetime horror flick, or perhaps “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”. The last one of the pelvis model is very educational and I’m sure it’s used in clinics and classrooms. My husband could use one during my pregnancy. That’s for sure! :-) thanks for sharing, I got a kick out of this for sure.

I would never buy any of these toys for a child these are just to weird and bizarre even if I had girls I wouldn’t buy them. I also agree with Rebecca!!!!!!

  6. Desiree says:

Well, when I was young I had the pregnant Midge and I loved it. My mom wasn’t even pregnant when she bought it…I just loved all that was babies so she got it for me. :)

  7. StrawBerry says:

I like the anatomy pelvis puzzle one but for older children. The pregnant midge isn’t bad either. The rest are weird to me. When I was younger I would have loved that Midge doll. I ended up taking my barbie, a handmade dress that was slightly oversized and passed down to me, and a tiny pillow and made my own pregnant barbie lol. So it goes to show, even if you don’t buy it the kid can figure out a way to make their own.

omg the japenese doll flippin scares me!!! I think the 4d human thing is cool

  9. Leah says:

I agree with all the other people…the 4 D puzzle is cool…I think for maybe 4th–5th grades and up..it would be great…the first puzzle can drop the naked mom at the beginning…why is it nude? all the other are weird or just wrong..as a child I think I would feel weird looking or playing with a doll like those..just sayin.

  10. Crystal says:

When I was younger I had the Midge doll and I loved it. Now that I have a daughter myself I wish that I could get her one. But sadly they don’t make them anymore. The rest are not for kids but the puzzle would be good for birthing classes. But each person has a different view on things and will let their kids play with what they think is appropriate.
