When we first found out that we were pregnant with our third child, our first thought was how are we going to manage in our small two bedroom apartment in New York City. While it’s worked for our family of four, I knew it was going to be tough as a family of five.
Although space will be tight, we are determined to make it work for the first few months after the baby is born. With the lack of space, we have to be mindful when getting baby gear. The girl’s room is getting a makeover soon so that they will have big girl beds leaving a little bit more space for a crib. The crib that my youngest daughter, Avery, is currently sleeping in is far to big to fit in the room with the bunk beds we are getting for the girls.
For a crib to fit in their room, it needs to be smaller than a standard-size crib. I’d also love one that I am able to bring from room to room for those nights that the baby will sleep in my room.
After doing a little bit of research, I realized there are lots of cribs on the market for small spaces just like mine. They come in many different styles and price points that will fit all of your needs. If you are looking for a crib for your small space, take a look at some of my favorites!

bloom alma mini 2 of 9
If you are looking for something to last your little one throughout the first year, this is a perfect option for you. This crib is not only stylish, but it's unlike anything I've ever seen on the market. It folds up so you can easily put it away when it's not in use. If you are really lacking for space, fold this up, and put it away when baby's not in it, and you will never have to compromise space in your room. It's made of solid wood, is built to easily fit through doors, and comes with a set of castors so you can move baby to each room with you.
bloom alma papa 3 of 9If you want something for baby to grow into, this alma papa is a few inches bigger than the mini, and can fit your little one up to 4 years. Much like the alma mini, and one reason that I absolutely love this crib, is it folds for when it's not in use. It's such a genius idea. This crib is perfect for those moms and dads who love a modern style but don't want to compromise it for small space. It is made of solid wood, and has two mattress heights for a sleek style and comfort for baby. It also includes a set of castors for easy movement no matter where you want baby to go with you around the house.
Stokke Sleepi 4 of 9I love this crib not only for its unique round design but for just how compact and practical it is. There is a mini kit which allows you to make it even smaller for when baby is an infant, and it even converts into a toddler bed. It's sleek, modern, chic, and compact, making it a great addition to any nursery or room.
Delta Riley Mini Crib 5 of 9This is a great option for parents looking for a small crib that will transition with your child throughout his or her life. It can covert into a twin bed, a daybed, or a twin-sized headboard for when your little one is older.
DaVinci Baby Alpha Mini Crib 6 of 9I know a lot of parents living in the city that live in one-bedroom apartments with their little ones, and need to find a small crib that can still fit in their room, but has wheels so that they can roll it out into the living room at night for baby to sleep once they are older. This small crib has wheels so that parents can easily roll it around, but when the wheels are removed, it has a great rocking feature to let you rock your baby to sleep.
DaVinci Anabelle Mini Convertible Crib 7 of 9Not only is this crib small so it can fit into a tiny space, but it can also convert into a twin-size bed when your baby is older. It's a great option for parents who have space limitations but don't want to buy another furniture set when their little one grows up.
Community Play Things Community Crib 8 of 9If you are looking for a small, no-frills crib for your baby, this is it! These cribs are often used in nursery schools or daycare centers. The crib is strong, sturdy, and everything is made in the USA.
Babyletto Grayson Mini Crib 9 of 9This is a durable crib that has wheels that let you bring the crib around wherever you need it. The wheels also lock for both safety and convenience. When not in use, simply take out the mattress board and fold it up for easy storage.
