8 Treats for Mom in the Last Month of Pregnancy

By Rebekah Kuschmider |

It’s June! It’s really June! I’m having a baby in June! That means this June will be the best June in the history of Junes! It will be even better than the June my family and I went on a cycling trip through Italy and we had that amazing dinner in Florence where I got tiramisu so delicious that it makes me drool just thinking about it even though that was 8 years ago. It was that good.

But I digress.

Even though June is the month I’ll be delivering, it won’t be until the end of the month instead of, like, next week or something amazing like that.  I still have a lot of days to mark off on my calendar before I get to hold my baby for the first time.  While that’s a big reward at the end of the long process, it’s still a ways off. And I? Am not always patient. In order to sweeten up these last few weeks of pregnancy, I’m going to plan a few little treats for myself. Nothing major, just a few activities and outings to pamper myself and make me feel a little special.

Here are some of the ideas I have for Last Month Mom Treats! If you want to try some of these, make sure to check with your doctor about any activity you’re unsure about, especially if your pregnancy is considered high-risk.

Give Yourself a Mani/Pedi

While nail polish is generally thought of as safe to use during pregnancy, other chemicals and fumes present in salons can make you feel queasy, and products such as nail clippers that aren't your own can up a risk of infection. Stay on the safe side by opting for a basic manicure in a well-ventilated salon, or do it yourself at home (and ask your partner if they're willing to give you a foot rub as part of it!).
